Milí krajané, přátelé,

srdečně Vás všechny opět zdravím na začátku měsíce února, do kterého vstupujeme slavením svátku „Uvedení Páně do chrámu“ (2.2.), jak se lidově říká „Hromnice“.

Na všechny nemocné budeme zvlášť myslet v modlitbě dne 11. 2., kdy si připomeneme výročí zjevení Panny Marie v Lurdech. Tento den je světovým Dnem nemocných. Jistě není potřeba velmi připomínat svátek sv. Valentina (14.2.).

Svátek „Stolec sv. Petra“ (22.2.) se týká památky prvního biskupského místa Ježíšova nástupce. Zprvu to bylo syrské hlavní město Antiochie a teprve později přesídlil Petr do Říma, střediska tehdejší kultury. Připomeneme si, že Ježíšova církev povstává z pevnosti Petrovy víry. Postní doba jako vždy začíná Popeleční středou, letos 2. března.

 Přeji Vám všem krásné a požehnané prožití měsíce února, hodně zdraví, pokoje a lásky… těším se na osobní setkání!

Dear friends,

 Heartfelt greetings to you all again at the beginning of February, which we start by celebrating the feast of the “Presentation of the Lord at the Temple” (2.2.), also known as “Candlemas Day.”

We will especially think of all the sick in prayer on 2.11., when we will commemorate the anniversary of the apparition of the Virgin Mary in Lourdes. This day is the World Day of the Sick.

There is certainly no need to remind you of the feast of St. Valentine (2.14). The feast of the “Chair of Saint Peter” (2.22.) commemorates the first episcopal place of the Jesus’s successor. At first, this was the Syrian capital of Antioch, and only later did Peter move to Rome, the center of culture of the time. We will remember that the Church of Jesus arises from the firmness of Peter’s faith.

Lent, as always, begins with Ash Wednesday which is on March 2nd this year.
