Dear members and friends of the Czech Catholic Mission in California,

California Governor Gavin Newsom announced on March 11, 2020, that “California public health officials issued an updated policy on gatherings to protect public health and slow the spread of COVID-19. The state’s public health experts have determined that gatherings should be postponed or canceled across the state until at least the end of March. Gatherings of individuals who are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 should be limited to no more than 10 people, while also following social distancing guidelines.”

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic and recent developments as noted above, and with public schools closing and public cultural and sports events getting canceled, we regret to inform you that out of an abundance of caution,

We are canceling our Josefovska Dancing Party scheduled on March 15th including the lunch and other refreshments.

Those who are interested to attend the Holy Mass, are still welcome to join us at our Velehrad house (344 Koch Avenue, Placentia, CA) at 2:15 pm and participate in our small gathering.

Please know that we have made this decision after careful consideration and discussion. We are driven by the overarching priority of ensuring the health and safety of every member of our community by increasing social distancing and limiting the number of large gatherings.

Sincerely,

Fr.Libor
