Milí krajané, přátelé,

zdravím Vás všechny v měsíci květnu, který je dle tradice zasvěcený Panně Marii. Panna Maria dokázala naslouchat Bohu ve svém srdci, naslouchá i nám a přináší naše prosby Ježíši. Nebojme se na ni tedy obracet ve svých modlitbách.

Milí krajané, tímto Věstníkem se s Vámi zatím loučím. Jak mnozí z Vás již víte, v polovině června se stěhuji z USA sloužit našim krajanům do české farnosti sv. Václava v Torontu v Kanadě. Měl bych tam být dva roky, zda se někdy mezi Vás vrátím, ví jen P. Bůh. Prozatím na mé místo zde v Kalifornii nepřijde natrvalo žádný další český kněz, důvodem je nedostatek kněží v České republice. Po dohodě s panem biskupem Malým a s duchovním správcem české misie v Chicagu, Mons. Dušanem Hladíkem, bude nyní zdejší česká kalifornská misie spravována kněžími z české misie v Chicagu. Bylo tomu tak i v nedávné minulosti, kdy pan biskup Esterka byl již nemocný a Mons. Dušan ho z Chicaga zastupoval dva roky až do mého příchodu, byl tu celkem 14x. Mše sv. zde v Kalifornii budou domlouvat s P. Dušanem koordinátoři jednotlivých měst, kteří Vás budou informovat o návštěvě kněze a o bohoslužbách. Jména koordinátorů
a kontakty na ně naleznete na první straně Věstníku, stejně tak i kontakt na P. Dušana Hladíka.

Co bude s naším misijním domem Velehrad v Placentia, nevím, správní rada domu (board) by Vás měla informovat. Prosím, Vy sami se informujte se u svých zástupců – koordinátorů v jednotlivých městech.

Jsem velmi vděčný P. Bohu, že mě přivedl sem do Kalifornie mezi Vás a že jsem zde mezi Vámi mohl být víc než pět roků. Děkuji Vám všem za veškerou podporu a pomoc naší misii i mně osobně. Děkuji za Vaše přátelství, za všechna setkání při bohoslužbách, po nich, ale i jindy. Děkuji za Váš příklad víry, ale i lásky k našim rodným domovům, odkud jsme přišli. Z hloubi srdce Vám přeji, abyste na cestě víry vytrvali, aby Vaše přátelství s Ježíšem bylo stále pravdivější a krásnější.

Pán Bůh Vám žehnej, ochraňuj a posiluj Vás a naplňuj Vaše srdce svým Božím pokojem.

Greetings to you all in the month of May, which is traditionally consecrated to the Virgin Mary. Our Lady was able to listen to God in her heart,, she listens to us as well, and brings our prayers to Jesus. So let us not be afraid to turn to her in our prayers and let us not be afraid to learn from her to listen to God.

Dear friends, in this Bulletin, I am saying good bye to you for now. As many of you already know, in mid-June, I am moving from the US to serve our compatriots in the Czech parish of St. Wenceslas in Toronto, Canada. I should be there for two years; and whether I will ever return to you, only God knows. For the time being, no other Czech priest will take my place here in California permanently since there is a lack of priests in the Czech Republic. Bishop Malý and the spiritual administrator of the Czech mission in Chicago, Mons. Dušan Hladík, agreed that the local Czech California Mission will now be administered by priests from the Czech Mission in Chicago. This is similar to the recent past, when Bishop Esterka was already ill and Mons. Dušan covered for him from Chicago for two years (he was here a total of 14 times) until my arrival. Holy Masses here in California will be arranged with Fr. Dušan by the coordinators of individual cities, who will inform you about the priest visit and about the services. The names of the coordinators and their contacts can be found on the first page of the Bulletin, as well as the contact details for P. Dušan Hladík.

I don’t know what will happen to our Mission house „Velehrad“ here in Placentia; the Board of Directors should inform you. Please check with your representatives – coordinators in each city.

I am very grateful to God for bringing me here to California among you and for being here among you for more than five years. Thank you all for all your support and help for our Mission and for me personally. Thank you for your friendships, for all the meetings during the Masses, but also at other times, for everything we could experience together. Thank you for your example of faith, but also for the example of love for our native homes, from where we came. From the bottom of my heart, I hope that you persevere on the journey of faith, that your friendship with Jesus may be ever truer and more beautiful.

May the Lord God bless, protect, and strengthen you and fill your heart with His divine peace!
