Milí krajané, přátelé,

zdravím Vás všechny na začátku měsíce května, který je velmi bohatý na církevní slavnosti a svátky. Květen je dle tradice zasvěcený Panně Marii a modlitbě růžence. Jsme vyzýváni ke každodenní modlitbě růžence za mír ve světě a za pokoj v našich srdcích. Panna Maria dokázala naslouchat Bohu ve svém srdci, naslouchá i nám a přináší naše prosby Ježíši. Nebojme se na ni tedy obracet ve svých modlitbách.

Slavnost Nanebevstoupení Páně budeme slavit ve čtvrtek 9. května. Následující neděli (12.5.) oslavíme Den maminek. Děkujeme všem maminkám za jejich lásku a přejeme jim VŠE NEJLEPŠÍ!!!

V neděli 19. května budeme slavit Slavnost Seslání Ducha svatého. Touto slavností končí Velikonoční období a začíná tzv. období mezidobí.

Hned další neděli (26.5.) oslavíme slavnost Nejsvětější Trojice, existenci jediného Boha ve třech osobách (Otce, Syna a Ducha svatého). Přehled dalších svátků naleznete v kalendáři na str. 2.

Také si již prosím zaznamenejte do kalendáře tradiční piknik u příležitosti Dne otců v neděli 16.6. na zahradě našeho domu Velehradu v LA po mši sv. ve 13.00 hod.

Chtěl bych upozornit, že v měsíci květnu a červnu NEBUDOU internetové mše sv. Velmi se omlouvám, ale nebudu přítomen! Příští mše sv. na internetu by tedy měla být až v červenci (7.7.).

Přeji Vám všem krásné, pokojné a požehnané prožití května, „mariánského“ měsíce plného krásných slavností a setkání a velmi se těším na každé osobní setkání s Vámi!

Greetings to all of you at the beginning of the month of May, a month very rich in Church celebrations and holidays. According to tradition, May is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and to the prayer of the Holy Rosary. We are called to pray the Holy Rosary daily for peace in the world and for peace in our hearts. The Virgin Mary was able to listen to God in her heart, she also listens to us, and brings our prayers to Jesus. So, let us not be afraid to turn to her in our prayers.

We will celebrate the Feast of the Ascension on Thursday, May 9th. The following Sunday, (5/12) we will celebrate Mother’s Day. We thank all mothers for their love and wish them ALL THE BEST!

On Sunday, May 19th, we will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. This celebration marks the end of the Easter season and the beginning of Ordinary Time.

The very next Sunday (5/26) we will celebrate the Feast of the Holy Trinity, the existence of one God in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). An overview of other holidays can be found in the calendar on page 2.

Also, please note in your calendars the traditional Father’s Day picnic on Sunday, 6. 16., in the Velehrad garden in LA after the 1:00 pm Mass.

I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that there will be NO online Masses during May and June. I apologize, but I will not be available! The next online Holy Mass will be in July (7.7.)

I wish you all a beautiful, peaceful, and blessed May, the Month of Mary, full of beautiful celebrations and meetings, and I look forward to every personal meeting Keep praying for our Blessed Mother’s intercession at these two most important moments. When the time comes for “now” to also be the hour of your death, Mary will not abandon you. She will be with you, leading you to her Son.with you!
